HELLO, I’m Sophie.
My name is Sophie and I am a Professional Board Director, a Board Trainer, a Corporate Governance practitioner, Business Strategist, author and speaker, a.k.a. TheBoardTrainer.
My time is devoted to getting Board of Directors to add value - big time. I do this through working as a Professional Board/Non-Executive Director, training Board Directors, as a Corporate Governance lecturer and consultant to owners and Boards. I am based in Sweden and work around the globe.
My goal is to train Board Directors to feel confident in tackling any situation that might occur. Either by being knowledgeable about proactive better practice, or by having been case-trained in how to remain calm, focused and action-oriented even when caught by unfortunate surprise. Feeling strong in your Directorship and knowing how to act, or where to find the information you need, to act wisely, strongly, with courage and integrity.
It is my wish to engage in developing Board Direction and inspire how we together can incrementally improve corporate governance structures around the globe that enhance and excel businesses and organisations, in a sustainable manner.
What makes me tick? I love business, engagement and results, and I believe in doing it sustainably, for the better of us all, because it is plain good business. And I enjoy thoroughly doing this, especially in an international environment.
Upon graduation I formulated my goal as "Making a difference in realising human and financial potential in organisations" and it remains valid to this day. I grew up with family businesses, through my executive work life alternating between employment in leadership positions and having my own businesses, until today solely focusing om non-executive positions and corporate governance.
Continuously, I experience how important the matchmaking of owners/Board of Directors and CEO is. Together these roles should aim at creating a solid platform for co-operation, with a clear Owners' Directive and a coherent strategy, sharing a common purpose, never forgetting and honouring our employees who are the ones who every day create the best company possible, in line with our strategy.

Sophie’s HOW
It does not really make a difference to me how the inspiration and knowledge, learning and development is spread. Whether through online courses, real-life workshops, speeches, books, texts, consulting, personal advice – or any other medium that can transfer knowledge, inspiration, learning, insight. As long as it is possible that it reaches someone somehow and inspires them to act in a way that makes our world a better place.
Sophie’s GOAL
My goal is to inspire and serve, to create confidence and calm within the people who choose to be inspired by me, the experience and knowledge I am sharing or what I communicate. The confidence and calm to act strongly and decisively for what they believe in and what will create value, be it as Board Directors, Leaders or human beings.
Books and publications
When I find time, space and inspiration, I write books, articles and random reflections. Putting pen to paper is another How for me to fulfill my Why.
